Our Top Picks
From IPAs to Your Favorite Craft Beer…
Beer is made from grain, water, yeast and hops. The grain is warmed in water and the starches from the grain then convert into sugars. The sugar water is also then boiled to get rid of contaminants.
Once the sugar water comes to a boil, hops are added to create a contrasting balance to the sweetness leftover from the grains. This mixture is then cooled and yeast is pitched and shaken to create fermentation -the process where yeast digests the sugars and spits out alcohol.
Each stage of this process can create huge variety of amazing flavors. The combination of specific grains, and flavors added into the brewing process lead us to some amazing beer options from breweries all over the globe. Thru The Cellar Door brings in as many of these different options as we can get our hands on for you to try.
The best advice we can offer on learning all that the craft beer world has to offer is to just jump in and try something! Running up the taste scale is not a bad way to teach your palate about beer, but you may try any random craft beer and enjoy it. The main thing to remember is to start trying a variety of flavors to see what you really enjoy.

Where Should You Begin?
If you need a recommendation we can help! If you want a brew that goes right along with the current season or just want to break out and try something different – we’ve got just the right thing for you.
When it comes to craft beer, a common question that usually comes up for most people is: “Where do I start?”
While this question is really going to come down to your personal tastes, the real answer is not as difficult as some may make you think it is. No matter where your craft beer journey begins, the fact remains you always have to start somewhere—and that part doesn’t have to be overwhelming. You just need to start.
A pro tip for your fist couple attempts into the craft beer world: Try and find beers that, while superior in every way to mass-produced light beers, possibly happen to share attributes to beers you already know and enjoy. In this case, it might be the higher carbonation content, or the general ‘paleness’ or light nature of the beer.
Once you’ve conquered beers that match what you’ve become accustomed to with mass produced flavors, you can then dive a little deeper into more complex flavors and combinations. Don’t worry, we won’t let you go at it alone. We love talking craft beers. Stop in or call us anytime to get some enthusiastic recommendations.
